In writing this term, we learned how to write a Acrostic poem and I thought it was pretty fun because it helped my imagination! I did two, one about cats and one about sea otters! It came out very awesome but the hard thing is that you need to think of a thing... for example, the letter T, I can't think of a letter that starts with T for the sea otters. But at last I knew exactly what to write to the letter T thing! I thought of lots and lots of things but I only picked two (because "Otter" has TWO Ts in it) and it was tremendously hard to choose which one!!! Do you do Acrostic poems?😁

Pool Day

In 2019 term 4, we went to the pool and we went on the bus. (It was a 20-25 minute drive) When I got there, I was so surprised to see they had a very big pool, but I think it was a little shallow for diving. The best thing was that there is a commodious slide that I really liked and it looked very scary but when I really got on it, it wasn't that scary! (It was about 16 metres high!!! When I was swimming, I got a big platform and all my mates went on it as well but the rules are: You're not allowed running, there is a separated place for the year 5, 6, 7, and 8. So the year 5 goes first the the year 6 then the year 7 and the lucky last... the year 8. Have you been to a place that is similar to this pool?

😉P.B.L Term 4 2019😉

In P.B.L this term, we learned about "How has New Zealand influenced our lives?". My group did WWII and we did an animation and a Generating Sub Question!!! It was a lot of hard work but it was also fun! We learnt a lot of things throughout the researching and thinking. It is really fun doing P.B.L and I think it really makes my brain smarter every time I do a research/homework. It is a very fun  task to do when you give things a go and having a risk! (Even if you don't know, you can still do it!) P.B.L is technically learning about what happened in the 1800's-1900's or even the 1700's! In our school, we did it in groups but I did a trio... You can work by yourselves or in pairs as well! What kind of P.B.L do you do?

Top Teams

Top Teams

Last friday, all of the year five, six, seven, and eight participated in the Top Teams. It was the best game in Canterbury... Well, for me! My group did very great job! (I think!) We did 13 or 17 things and my favourite one is where you dump water in the bucket which the person that is behind you is holding! You get sooooo wet and I loved it! It was so hot that I had drink two and a have bottles of water! The event started after lunch and it went on until 3 o'clock! I think it is really fun!!! Have you done Top Teams before?

Ferry Mead park trip

                       Ferry Mead park trip

We went to a trip. The place we went to is called Ferry Mead park. We learned about the history of NZ and we even watched a clip that happened in the 1950s. We went to the olden day house, cottage, printers, barber, a movie theatre, church, school, bakery, telephone, water fountain and the jail. It was so fun going there because there are a lot of different toys to play with like: stilts, go-cart and the horse riding thing. The guys who work in Ferry Mead park prepare for us year 5 and year 6  morning tea! I was so hungry!! Ferry Mead park is a place you can go in the summer weekends!!!

A Letter Home

                            A Letter Home
Dear Grandma,
I'm on a canoe and the canoe is so wobbly that I can't write this letter properly! I am sick of staying on the canoe. It will take a couple miles (13 Hrs)to go home but this letter will always be in my heart!

Pastel Art

We did pastel art which is a pretty easy thing to do... FOR ME! Or maby you? Well anyway, you can do feathering, stippling, blending, sgraffito and stumbling. For me... it is EASY! I did feathering the most because it is QUITE easy because all you have to do is to just do different colours and then make it like a feather. What I think is WAAAAAAAAAAAY cooler is blending because you can blend diffrent colours... DO NOT forget to use lighter colours first the lay the darker colours on top! And don't press toooooo hard or tooooooo soft just press them originaly. 

Maths Boards

This week I did one math board but the week before that, I did three. Maths boards are really fun and all you do is to pick a question you want and write how you are gonna solve it and you can even write a made up subheading to learn your maths problems. 

Fun Fact: If your doing your maths boards, it is easier to do addition. If you want something harder, you can do times tables!😉

Court Theatre Show- Travel of the Gods

Today, me and my class went to the year 7-8 hub to see travel of the gods. It was 100% awesome and funny! I laughed so hard that I can't breath! I laughed at the part that he pretended to be a: chicken, giraffe, and guinea pig!😄 I liked the part when Maui defeated the eal and the other thing I have 50/50 chance of thinking the eal's body turned into a coconut tree! Maui got the magic fish hook... and with that, he can defeat the eal. I really like the show!!👍

Winter sports

In winter sport this season, I played football and we played for 4 weeks on a Thursday. In the first week, we got 1-0 but they scored a HOME GOAL!

The second time the school that we are versing got defaulted. The third week we played but St Marks got 4-2 so we lost but I still think it's a good game! The forth week we lost as well but the other school got 2-1.

I think my level is 3. I actually had a lot of fun to join soccer and the good thing is, there was no rain! I might play soccer again or rugby!
