A Book About Tom Gates

So, welcome back to my blogs guys! Today I'll show you my favorite book which is Tom Gates. I've almost got the whole series, just 3 more! The books I have is: The Brilliant World of Tom Gates, Genius Ideas(mostly), Excellent Excuses(and other good stuff), Biscuit Bands and Very Big Plans, A Tiny bit Lucky, Best Book Day Ever(so far), Everything's Amazing(sort of), Epic Adventure(kind of), Yes No(maybe...), Spectacular SCHOOL TRIP(really), Dog Zombies Rule(for now), Super Good Skills(almost), Extra Special Treats(not), Family Friends and Furry Creatures. The one I really liked was Genius Ideas(mostly) because: Marcus likes to think that he has good ideas... but they are mostly all the opposite of genius ideas! When Tom's Uncle Kevin says he is an expert on everything, it makes Tom's dad pull a face. Class 5F (which is Tom's class) came second on the sports day thing. Tom's mid-term report card says good things about Tom which he is very proud about! My second favorite Tom Gates book is called Excellent Excuses(and other good stuff) because this is what happened: Getting to the top of Mr Fullerman's award chart was pretty tricky for Tom because:
1. Marcus Meldrew is a sneaky so-and-so and up to no good
2. Tom's tooth is aching so much that he can't even concentrate on drawing in class!
3. Tom keep getting sidetracked by interesting activities like bug catching, and, most importantly, spending quality time annoying his sister Delia.
My third favorite book is called A tiny bit lucky. Here's what happened:
Tom's dad wants to make a kite so we can go out and get lots of "fresh air". Tom wouldn't mind getting more fresh air if they had a dog. But that's not going to happen because his sister Delia is "allergic" to dogs, Delia is also allergic to things like fun! Tom, Derek and Norman (who is Tom's best mates) are planning some serious band practice for the Rock Weekly Band Battle. Tom, Derek and Norman are not panicking because they have loads of time.
My last Favorite book is called Everything's Amazing(sort of). Here is what happened:
Good News for Tom...
1. Tom and Derek are entering Rooster (Derek's dog) into the local Dog Show so (just for a change) he smells nice and clean.
2. Tom's excellent singing voice is driving Delia crazy!
Bad News for Tom...
3. Granny Mavis (Tom's granny) wants to cook for Tom's birthday, which could might be a disaster for Tom. For example: Cucumber Cake and a broccoli bun.
4. Marcus Meldrew keeps getting Tom in trouble because he is a bad dancer.
5. Marcus has a dog which is as small as a rat (maybe smaller).

Charles Upham

For this week, our learning attention was: Show your understanding of how you can add precise detail that elaborates on the main points by writing about a famous New Zealander of your own choice. We also did a report on a famous New Zealander. Now you're probably asking: " Who are you doing?". I'm going to tell you now. I did Charles Upham because he is a famous commander in WWII and he has been working so hard for 189,000 soldiers! Here is my two... well, three if you count the last one paragraph.

Charles Hazlitt Upham, VC & Bar (21 September 1908 – 22 November 1994) was a New Zealand soldier who was awarded the Victoria Cross (VC) twice during the Second World War; in Crete in May 1941, and at Ruweisat Ridge, Egypt, in July 1942. 

He was a very brave commander. He is the commander for 189,000 soldiers! He did that from 1940 to 1945. The soldiers really respected Charles Upham and listened to every single word he said and in 1945, they won the war. The soldiers were so thankful that they gave him loads of presents! But sadly, he died in 1994 and he was aged 86.

Communication PBL

In swimming when we had our life jackets on, this is how we communicated: we gathered into a circle and we communicated to each other. What I think is that communication is really important and if you don't communicate well, things won't go the way you want and won't help the team's situation.                                 

Swimming 2020

In swimming this year (which was at QEII) we did 50m freestyle, backstroke, doggy paddle, survival backstroke, duck dives and breaststroke. On Tuesday this week, we did 100m freestyle and ocean swim. I had lots of fun on wednesday in the 2m high pool with life jackets on!!! I don't know what we will be doing today, but I bet it'll be great!

PBL Creativity

Hi! Today I'll be telling you what creativity is and why it is important.

What creativity means is that you do something smarter in a different way. There's a long word for it and that is inventiveness. Creativity is important because you can create lots and lots of things if you just concentrate. Creativity is important because it improves your learning, imagination and creativity helps you see things differently and better deal with uncertainty.

I collaborate pretty well but at I can't say I'm 100%. I not really good at talking important things to the group. What I'm good at is care for the group, share ideas, helpful, hard working and help others. That's what I'm gonna talk to you today on PBL. The end

Maths

I like learning and I also like maths! I like doing geometry the most as I like maths. Here is a blog about maths I learned at school. What is the basics of geometry? Here is the answer: in its simplest form, geometry is the mathematical study of shapes and space. Geometry can deal with flat, two-dimensional shapes, such as squares and circles, or three-dimensional shapes with depth, such as cubes and spheres. That is an example of geometry. There are 3 types of geometry, they are: there are 3 geometries: Euclidean, spherical, and hyperbolic. These are the only geometries possible for 2-dimensional objects, although a proof of this is beyond the scope of this book. Geometry is just using shapes which is pretty fun and easy, try it, it'll be fun, trust me. Maths is really fun and it keeps your brain muscle working if your bored or even tire maybe.
